Studio One and Microtuner
Connect Studio One and Microtuner
Microtuner is a standalone app running under Max MSP so it cannot be used within Studio One like a VST instrument. It has to be running outside Studio One and in the setup here it is played through a MIDI instrument in Studio One.
The MIDI data is either directly passed through to Studio One without recording MIDI or, if so wished, the MIDI data can be recorded as a MIDI track and later played back. In either case the audio that Microtuner produces is routed back into Studio One to an audio track, and it is this track that handles volume, effects and other things related to the Microtuner audio signal. It is the audio track that has a slider in the mixer, not the MIDI track.
To record the Microtuner instrument you can either 1) record MIDI on the MIDI track, or 2) record the audio on the audio track (or both). In the case of 1) Microtuner needs to be running, but in the case of 2) it does not need to run since the audio exists in Studio One after recorded.
